Michael Smith - Board of Directors

I played as a left back for Christian Brothers University. After college I continued my competitive career with Nike's Swoosh FC before settling in to recreational soccer in my 30s & 40s.  

In August 2023, I became the majority shareholder of Carrick Rangers FC with one of my primary goals to launch a women's program. It was an amazing opportunity to partner with Ben to consolidate efforts and continue to build upon the tremendous success of the Falcons under the Carrick Rangers banner.

I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee in the shadows of Elvis' Graceland estate. I currently reside between New York City and Portland Oregon with a regular presence in Carrickfergus. 

I am a recovering marathoner and now hooked on strength training in the gym. I have founded two non-profit initiatives that I enjoy supporting with my time and experience.  Tech Day of Pink mobilizes the worldwide technology community in the mission to end breast cancer and the TechPACT is a coalition of CIOs and tech executives committed to creating a world in which anyone with a passion for technology has the opportunity to succeed. 

I am thrilled to be a part of expanding upon this winning culture where high standards, hard work, a team-first mindset, and having fun are valued.
